Mina Choi is a Korean American who grew up in Dallas, Texas. Over the past 15+ years she has been pursuing the two great passions in her life – the organ and discipling/mentoring young people.

Over the years God has spoken to Mina about specifically raising up the next generation in the Korean diaspora churches in Europe. For the past 15+ years, she has pioneered and invested in equipping Korean-European Youth.

​

Following God is an adventure! Mina has traveled to more than 50 countries, has friends from all over the world. More than anything, though, she loves Jesus and strongly believes in young people and how God is using them to advance his Kingdom.  

 

저는 텍사스 달라스에서 자란 한국계 미국인 최미나 전도사입니다. 저는 지난 15년 동안 저의 삶의 두가지 큰 열정, 즉 오르간과 다음 세대를 세우고 멘토링하는 것에 대한 열정을 가지고 살았습니다.

몇년에 걸쳐 하나님께서는 저에게 특별히 한국 디아스포라 교회의 다음 세대를 세우는 마음을 주셨습니다. 지난 15년 동안 저는 한국계 유럽인들을 훈련시켰습니다.

하나님을 따르는 삶은 모험입니다! 저는 50개국 이상의 나라들을 여행했으며 전 세계에 친구들이 많습니다. 무엇보다도, 저는 예수님을 사랑하고 하나님 나라를 확장하기 위해 하나님께서 다음 세대를 사용하신다는 것을 믿습니다.

Hansol is from the Netherlands. She is a master’s student currently finishing her studies in Medicine and Public health epidemiology. She loves traveling and is a person full of curiosity.

"My experience with SET is a love-and-hate relationship, a place where I would love to be and at the same time a place where I wouldn’t want to be as I know that I would be very (extremely) challenged in many aspects of my journey with Christ. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say I have matured in my “being” with SET. It truly is a weird place where it is “set apart” from the world and helps us to come vulnerably in front of God. SET also taught me how to be intentional and strategic in my service/ministry and has thus broadened my perspectives in many aspects. So yes, I look forward to the amazing work that will be done in and through SET in the coming years!"

 

안녕하세요, 저는 네덜란드에서 온 민한솔입니다. 현재 의학 및 공중보건 역학을 공부 중인 석사생이고 여행을 좋아하며 호기심이 많은 사람입니다.

 

저와 SET는 함께하고 싶은 곳인 동시에 피하고 싶은 복잡미묘하고도 신기한 곳이 였습니다. 언제나 기대되지만 동시에 애써 피해왔던 저의 내면에 부분들에 대해 도전받고 마주해야하는 곳이였기 때문입니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 매년 SET와 함께했던, 그리고 함께하는 이유는 참가자들이 온전히 연약해질 수 있는 몇 안되는 “safe place”가, 어쩌면 “구분된” 곳이 되어주기에 그리고 그런 환경안에서 열매맺음을 직접적으로 목격할 수 있는 곳이기에가 아닐지 생각해봅니다. 그렇기에 앞으로 SET안에 그리고 SET를 통해 이루어질 일들이 많이 기대가 됩니다!

Yeonju was born and grew up in Korea. She graduated in conducting and is still living and working as a conductor in Germany (but directly on the French border!). She loves to travel and experience different cultures. Also, she likes reading and writing.

Through SET I've tasted and seen his goodness and unlimited love beyond my rational thinking. 저는 한국에서 태어나서 자랐고 독일에서 지휘공부를 마치고 독일-프랑스 국경쪽에 거주하며 활동하고 있는 이연주입니다. 여러 나라를 다니며 다양한 문화를 경험하는 것을 좋아하고 책을 읽고 글을 쓰는 것을 좋아합니다.

 

세트는 제가 익숙한 것들에 안주하지 않고 하나님과 개인적인 관계를 재정립할 수 있도록 끊임없이 도전해주었습니다. 또한 세트에서의 시간들을 통해 저의 합리적인 생각과 이성을 넘어선 그분의 제한없는 사랑과 선하심을 더 깊이 경험할 수 있었습니다. 앞으로 이 공동체와 함께 하나님 안에서 성장하고 다음세대들을 멘토링하고 섬기면서 같이 걸어갈 믿음의 여정이 정말 기대가 됩니다.

This is Jezin Chung who was born and raised in Vienna, Austria. She studied music therapy in Seattle, Washington, USA. After finishing her studies, she now lives in Germany where she began her first career as a music therapist. She likes exploring the world of coffee and learning to make different kinds of coffee drinks at home! A good cup of coffee with dessert on the side always brightens up my day. 

 

“I first attended SET in 2016 in the Netherlands where I was able to truly meet God and experience His love for me just the way I am. Ever since, SET has always been challenging me in ways I never imagined, allowing me to grow and learn what it means to trust God in every step of my life. The time I spend at SET is always very precious to me as I am able to not only meet old and new friends but also be part of this community that is seeking God wholeheartedly.”

 

안녕하세요, 저는 오스트리아 비엔나에서 태어나고 자란 정예진입니다. 미국 워싱턴주 시애틀에서 음악치료를 공부했습니다. 학업을 마친 후 독일에서 음악 치료사로서의 첫 경력을 시작하게 되어 지금은 독일에 살고 있습니다. 커피의 세계를 탐험하고 집에서 다양한 종류의 커피 음료를 만들어 보는 것을 좋아합니다! 디저트와 함께 마시는 맛있는 커피는 늘 제 하루를 밝게 해줍니다.

2016년 네덜란드 SET에 처음 참석하면서 하나님을 진정으로 만났고, 있는 그대로의 나를 향한 그분의 사랑을 경험할 수 있었습니다. 그 이후로 SET는 항상 제가 상상하지 못했던 방식으로 저에게 도전을 주었고, 제 삶의 모든 단계에서 하나님을 신뢰한다는 것이 무엇을 의미하는지를 배우고 성장할 수 있게 해주었습니다. SET에서 보내는 시간은 늘 저에게 매우 소중합니다 – 오랜 친구들과 새로운 친구들을 만날 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 전심으로 하나님을 찾는 이 공동체의 일원으로 함께할 수 있다는 것에 큰 기쁨을 느낍니다.

Jonah is a 3rd generation Korean-Canadian-German. He was born in Canada and lived in Vancouver for the first 8 years of his life. With 8 years he then moved to Germany with his family where he mainly grew up. Jonah now lives in Düsseldorf and majored in Business Administration. 

 

"To me SET is like a safe place, where I can always come back to and meet people who are like family to me. It is very important to stay in touch with a community and for me SET has been a place where I always got challenged a lot spiritually and helped me grow. I am committing to SET, because I really believe that by serving, we can help leaders grow with their own individual strengths. Since I am also 3rd generation Korean, I feel that I should never neglect the fact that I am Korean! I think God has a reason why I grew in different cultures and really hope to be able to help other Diasporas as well! I really have a heart for worship and want to help the next generation learn more about worship! "

 

이태영은 한국계 캐나다 독일인 3세(?)이며 캐나다에서 태어나 처음 8년 동안은 밴쿠버에서 살았습니다. 그 후 8년 동안 가족과 함께 독일로 이주하여 그곳에서 주로 성장했습니다. 조나는 현재 뒤셀도르프에 거주하며 경영학을 전공하고 있습니다.

저에게 SET는 언제든 돌아올 수 있는 안전한 장소이자 가족 같은 사람들을 만날 수 있는 곳입니다. 공동체와 지속적으로 관계를 유지한다는 것은 저에게 너무나 중요한 일인데, 특히 SET는 저에게 영적으로 많은 도전을 주고 성장하는 데 도움을 준 곳입니다. 저는 섬김을 통해 리더들이 각자의 강점을 살려 성장할 수 있다고 믿기 때문에 SET에 헌신하고 있습니다. 저 역시 한인 3세이기 때문에 제가 한국인이라는 사실을 결코 놓쳐서는 안 된다고 생각해요! 제가 다른 문화 속에서 성장한 데에는 하나님의 뜻이 있다고 생각하기에 다른 디아스포라들에게도 도움을 줄 수 있기를 바랍니다! 저는 예배에 대한 마음을 가지고 있고, 다음 세대들이 예배에 대해 더 많이 배울 수 있도록 돕고 싶어요!
